Saskatoon's very first Festival of Klezmer Music was held on Sunday
Afternoon,Nov 25 at the Jewish
Community Centre before a large and enthusiastic audience. Opening the
concert was a group of students
from three high schools(Walter Murray,Centennial,Marion Graham).Their
appearance was followed by  the Walter Murray Klezmer Band,led by Maxim
Gertler-Jaffe.An appreciative audience welcomed both groups.

The second portion of the concert featured singers and small
instrumental groups.Chaverim,a bass/ piano duo,made their debut

On October 30th a group of people from our small but active Jewish
community in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada - gathered at the
apartment of our community shlichim join with people around the world
in the solidarity day for the kidnapped soldiers. We were there to
